Food Waste
In early 2020, we set an ambitious target to roll out a weekly food waste recycling service to 24,000 high rise properties and schools by the end of 2022 (75% of all high rise properties in the borough).
We are proud to say that we have exceeded this target and have rolled this service out to 24,100 homes across 218 sites. To date, we have collected over 588 tonnes of food oless waste going to landfill and less harmful gases being released into the atmosphere).
Bulky Waste
Hounslow’s Bulky Waste Collection Service is a cost-effective and convenient collection service for the removal of large household items that are too big for normal household waste collection bins. Think broken furniture or fridges.
Collections are available 5 days per week, and the cost is just £40 for up to 5 items collected.
Alternatively, you can vist Space Waye Reuse and Recycling Centre – our bulky item drop-off centre – to legally dispose of your larger items.
Garden Waste
If you have a garden and want to ensure your cuttings are collected and turned into high quality compost(the most sustainable way to dispose of garden materials), our Garden Waste Collection service may be for you.
It’s an optional service, and runs fortnightly. Take a look.
